It&amp;rsquo;s too much. It strains the eyes, and for a newborn, it&amp;rsquo;s just way too intense.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;Taming the glare&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;So, how do we fix that? We tweak the light.&#xA;Instead of just letting the raw radiation fly, we use filtered quartz glass or specific alloys in the filament to kill off that blinding peak of visible light. It creates more of a &amp;ldquo;soft glow.&amp;rdquo;&#xA;The result? You still feel the warmth on your skin, but you aren&amp;rsquo;t squinting. It&amp;rsquo;s felt, not seen.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;The guts of the machine&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Under the hood, it&amp;rsquo;s a tungsten filament tucked inside a high-purity quartz tube. Since this is a bathroom, steam is the enemy. We use IP65-rated housing to keep the moisture out. Without it, your electrical contacts would just corrode and short out in a few months.&#xA;We also polish the reflectors to a mirror finish. This pushes the heat straight down where it belongs, which keeps the fixture itself from getting dangerously hot.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;The real-world trade-off&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Here&amp;rsquo;s the catch. When you filter out those wavelengths to protect the eyes, you lose a bit of raw power. You aren&amp;rsquo;t getting 100% of the thermal efficiency you&amp;rsquo;d find in a giant industrial lamp.&#xA;To make up for it, you&amp;rsquo;ll want to bump up the wattage a bit so the room still feels warm. Just make sure your wiring can handle the extra load.&#xA;And one last thing: mount the unit high. Even with the filters, that quartz tube gets seriously hot, and you don&amp;rsquo;t want anyone touching it.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
